What is it about SARCASM?

According to Wikipedia: Sarcasm is a form of humor that uses sharp, cutting remarks or language intended to mock, wound, or subject to contempt or ridicule.

See, now, y'all thought I was tryin ta be sarcastic or some fool thing!

I get 'ccused of it. Sure. But, unless, someone else and I are engaged in a "dialogue" and have agreed together that we both think sarcasm is awfully funny sometimes, I am never sarcastic. I laugh at it sometimes, too. ON TV, that is, when its ON TV! It's right funny.

Now, sure, but O'reilly and his ilk, they're darn sarcastic most of the time. Biting. Sharp. Cutting. And . . . I laugh. I really do! I laugh because I know they're just being sarcastic and hurtin'. Now that's the real thing, when it's INTENDED. That part right there. "Intentionally" rude. Yes. I say Rude!

Plus - they really get to y'all, and how? attacking the Pres, showin' you stuff about the latest "case" of murder, rape, or mayhem and then cutting to - oh, some innocuous ad advertising car insurance or some other cute li'l ol thing about those big contributors to conservative causes -banks and health insurance!

Or maybe not. It's ok, though, to attack the Prez cuz they're the only real Americans and they're the only ones on the side of Gawd! And of course that's not the Pres they voted for, so that's ok.

Unless, unless, jus aminute here, unless the PREz is Republican! And then there's no attackin' goin' on, no justifyin' the attask or nothing. Instead when, then, and IF there's a Republican in office then those darn LIBERAL Democrats are attackin! The HOLY Prez of the U.S. unjustifiably! - humph. THEN they they they say - ha ha ha ha - "we here at Fox news ain't biased!" No no no, they ain't biased at all! so I'm sayin' SARCAStIC? sHOOT, i AIN'T sARCASTIC!

Then just when y'all get this ol' hippo's blood pressure UP! Ya don't put on a ad for Lipitor or nothin' like some of those other stations do, cuz that would be tooooo obvious! (who, being not only rude and, but, also CRUDE! can also do any damn thing they please!)

Now see, all of the above and foregoin' was an sarcastic and of course, since I jus can't QUIT! unjustifiable attack by someone as pin-headed as me! Hehehe. Yes, brother, sister, callin someone who don't agree with ya a pinhead ain't juvenile at all! Cuz real adults, the O'Reilly variety, do it alla time right up there - on the TV News!(sic) Big as life, and twice as juvenile! Lordy. So sick!

But in person, sometimes, if you're lookin' good enough, it can be ahh, oooooo, soooo delightfully charming~that sarcasm stuff. SO! I laugh. One big joke at supper time for us old hippos that eat early and then toddle off to bed, chucklin' about how those guys, those big guys, do go on! Oh, and also and, there's a bit of sensationalism goin' on over there, on that FOX news thing. Ain't there just? But where isn't it? I mean even the ads they post on my HUBS lately! Lordy.

And jus think 'bout that ad on TV with the lady crrrrawlin' across the floor sayin' "I've fallen and I can't get up!" in that smokey voice. Now is that sarcasm? is that sensational? No. Neither. But, then again, maybe! And how many takes was it to git that one ad? Cuz I jus got a feelin' they laughed themselves silly until she really was on the floor!

So I'm jus gonna git a little sarcastic here. And jus to describe a familiar routine, for many of you who JUS MIGHT BE TAKIN' ALL THIS SO sam blam seerius- here:

You say: "Ok. I know what you're doin, trying to get me not to take this so sereeeus!'"

and I say: "Sure, nothin' wrong with that! But, jee, you LOOK nice today. TODAY"

and you say: "Really? You think so?"

and I say: "You've been working late lately, haven't ya?"

and you say: "Does it show?"

and I say: "Jus a little, around the edges."

then you say: "Here, take a load off . . ."

And it goes on and on for awhile til we just laugh ourselves silly and leave all the personal stuff out, you know the attacks, and start talkin' about something real, like my latest T-shirt:

"Say, don't anybody know what time it is?"

Sure hope, by the way, none of you's is tryin' to learn the English language here from either me or O'Reilly, for that matter!
